Climbing Floors

Hi,

Can you please add to the activities, "climbing floors"? and with the metrics "floors"

It would be very useful in these times of confinement due to Covid 19

Thanks and good work

Re: Climbing Floors

I don't really get what you want.

Do you want a new field 'climbing floors' for activities? If that's the case: what's the difference to ascent/descent?

Or do you want a new sport type for that? You can define any sport type you want at your own at https://runalyze.com/settings/sport/add/custom.

Or do you want to track the number of floors climbed everyday as Garmin or other 24/7 activity trackers do? No, that's not possible in Runalyze.

Re: Climbing Floors

Good Morning,

Maybe I didn't explain myself well, because English is not my native language.

In the garmin, in the case of my watch that has an altimeter, I have the possibility to register an exercise like climbing floors.

Basically, using the altimeter, the watch calculates the number of floors that correspond to our climb. And normaly its accurated.

I live in a 9-story building, and the other day one of my workouts was going up and down the stairs 4 times, which made a total of 36 floors up.

So my ideia was to create a exercice, but the metrics should be like "floors", instead of quilometers or time. Is that possible?

I hope I have explained myself better.
Thank you

Re: Climbing Floors

Okay, I got it now. Sadly, I don't think we can add new metrics for such rare cases (so far, you are the only one requesting this feature).

Looking at your screenshot, Garmin does still provide an altitude profile ("Subida") such that Runalyze will show you a calculated ascent/descent for your activity? How much does that differ from the number of climbs? I guess there's a simple calculation like 2,5m ascent = 1 climb?

We're planning to support "self-defined" metrics some day (not within the next months) and this could be a good example for that feature.

I guest it should be around that, for example, in that trainning i did a sum of 37 floors, the fenix registed 36. So is accurated enough for me :) :)

Due to covid confinements, in Portugal gyms are closed these days. so most of us tried to do strength training in most classic ways, like climbing lots, and lots of stairs.

Thanks for the help, and glad i gave you a good example, for the metrics to come in the nexts months

Keep the good work and stay safe
