About the Pace Curve

Hi,

I did a Garmin exercise that consisted in warm-um and a combination of three times 15s@3:12 followed by 3m recovery.

The screenshot below is zoomed-in to a sprint set chart from Garmin and what Runalyze recorder (laps 4, 6, and 8)

If on lap 8, I did 15s at an average of 2:47/km, shouldn't it be reflected in the pace curve? Why does it say that 15s was at 3:51.km only? Am i reading it wrong?

You can't really trust pace curve values for < 30s. The pace curve is calculated based on a 'smooth pace' signal that is calculated with a 30s moving average.

I understand that it's frustrating in case of valid data as in your example, but invalid data because of gps issues or similar is very frequent such that we decided to use this smoothing. We might change the 30s window to e.g. 15s window, but that's not decided so far.
