VO2Max (by file)

Hi I'm trying to understand my VO2Max (by file) figures a little better. Mostly I can see where they are coming from in the .fit files, but I sometimes get anomalies. My understanding is that these are calc'd by field_0 in mesg79 in the .fit files where the raw value is divided by 1024 and the multi...

Re: Race distances for "mile" users

I've actually managed to force it to work on the race comparison by entering more than 2 decimal places. Whilst the 2 places are all that show on the front end, PBs now show as 5k when I've entered 3.107 miles and 6.215 miles for 10k. For 3000m I had to go to 4 decimal places as 1.8645. Presumably t...

Race distances for "mile" users

I was looking at the "RACE RESULTS: PERFORMANCE CHART" and wondering why my PBs at 5km and 10km weren't showing as graphed PBs and I think the reason why is because I use imperial measurements (i.e. miles) for most road races. But, for example, whether I use 3.10miles (rounding down) or 3.11 miles (...

Re: Understanding marathon shape better

THanks - I can see what I can change, but the descriptions against the settings don't really tell me what the various parameters mean / do. So for my own clarity:- "Minimal distance for longjogs" - this is the shortest distance run that can count towards being a long run for the purposes of the mara...

Understanding marathon shape better

Hi I've tried to understand marathon shape, but it is baffling me! I know that the current figure is a function of volume of km (miles) run and long runs (long jogs) done, as well as VO2Max, but I just don't "get" what I would (in theory) need to be doing to improve the figure. My effective VO2max i...

Race definitions

Hi When logging an event as a "race" it requires user consistency to choose the distance - made even more complex when the user logs their activities in miles, but also for kms where the distance is, say, 21,097m for a half marathon etc. Would it be possible to hard code certain race distances into ...

Re: Activity rename

I'm struggling to see where I can do this - is the "activity form" the box that appears when you edit an activity? The drop down list of jogging, fartlek, long slow distance etc doesn't seem editable?

I'm sure this is me getting it wrong though!

Race distances - metric vs imperial

Hi I'm a new user, so I'm sure this has been asked before. Living in the UK I use a mix of imperial and metric measurements. I like to see my training runs in miles, my pace in miles, but weight in kg etc. For most of the site functionality this works really well. But for race distances this gives m...
